Devlog #2 - Finally cracked perspective and proportions

Today I finally feel like I am able to make progress; as you might recall from my previous Dev Log #1 I was a little stuck on drawing the initial room for my game and getting to grips with perspectives.

Before we head into that, I decided to spend some time today planning the remaining days I have in the Adventure Jam and what needs to be done. This helped me gain focus and cut some none essential tasks; and part of this process, I worked out how many hours I could commit per day, which gives me a total of 41 hours from tomorrow (not much time at all)

Initially, this started as a spreadsheet which I then transferred, later on, to www.clickup.com (Trello but on steroids)

And the remaining days (Tuesday has no plans; I am in London all day)

So with this in place, I have had to be ruthless with my goals, and if time permits, I can add extras from my backlog towards the end.

Now onto today's progress

  • Created a brand new Unity Project for the game
  • I finally mastered perspective for the first room and now have a draft room I'm happy with
  • Added the room to unity
  • Configured walking paths
  • Added a temp character with animations for Max (hopefully, I will have time to make my own)
  • Added scaling of Max depending on where he is in the room
  • Added Hotspots for all the interactive elements

Here is a video of the progress today

Let's hope tomorrow's plans go well and how this Jam unfolds
